Hello Everyone,

We are approaching the middle of the 3rd quarter, which means that mid-term grades will be released on Wednesday.  This is an excellent time to re-motivate the children.  We are only halfway through the quarter, so there is still a lot of time to raise their grades:-)   

The first half of the year went by so quickly.  It is extremely important for us (teachers and parents) to work together on keeping the students focused.  Spring is right around the corner...and as we all know, the kids go crazy during this season;-)  Also, the "almighty" CRCT is approaching us quickly.  This just adds to the fact that we need the students to stay focused, so we can pass that test!

If you are still not receiving progress reports on Fridays, make sure you get your e-mail address to the office.  You can do this by e-mailing me with your e-mail address and a message stating that you want to be added to the e-mail list, or you can drop by the office/call the office and give them your e-mail.

Social Studies

This week we'll be finishing our diorama projects.  Each student will recreate a scene depicting a significant event from the Renaissance period.  We'll also start our unit on Latin America.*This will cover the following Georgia S.S. Standards (SS6H6, SS6G1, and SS6G3)*

Monday: Finish working on Diorama project.

Tuesday: Presentations for diorama projects.

Wednesday: Finish presenting projects

Thursday: label political map of Latin America

Friday: Create maps of L.A. (climate, population, resource)
