Theme 3 in reading

    We are still working on our     first 25 spelling words and the first quarter sight words.

The "Baggie Book" goal for October is 6 books. We are working on retelling and comprehension skills with every book we read.

Short a,e,i,o,u word families are very important components to breaking down new words.

Writing is a big part of each day. We do a morning sentence,write in centers,create group stories on a regular basis. 

                      Math

   Our focus is on subtraction, word       problems and doubles.  We play lots of  math games and use manipulatives during every lesson.

            Science

Our trip to Lazy Five Ranch was a big success but we missed a lot of sick classmates. We have partners to work with on finding information and creating posters on the animals chosen from the animals we saw.

         Social Studies

We finshed lessons on Christopher Columbus and have moved on to Halloween and Fall topics. We love to study maps.too
