    First Grade has somuch planned for the next few weeks.  Wewill be beginning our class newsletter  and having our "Pumpkin Day" on Halloween.

    Academically, weare finishing our introduction of all the vowel sounds through the letter peopleand will have plenty of reinforcement until we can distinguish the differentsounds. Math class has been filled with activities to aid in vertical andhorizontal addition, number order, word problems and even some beginningalgebra. Experiments have been conducted in science and we have been using ourmagnifying glasses to look closely at Fall Changes.

   A trip to theOreland Fire Station is scheduled for later this month and we have a Decemberfield trip in the plans.

We recently had a visit from a church deacon to discuss whatGod asks of each of us.  The childrenwere very expressive with their answers to the deacon and he also gave eachchild a rosary to keep and use.
