LA:  Begin reading the novel Tuck Everlasting.  We will create a folder to keep in class.  Each day we will read, discuss and complete an activity related to this novel.  Students will receive a project grade on the folders after we finish the novel.

LA:  We completed Biopoems.  Students received new vocabulary words.  Voc. test every thursday.  We discussed creating a team "pledge" written by Falcon students!  A contest for a Falcon team flag has started.  If your child is artistic they may want to create a design for our team flag!   We reviewed DLR for the week and finished the short story "Stray" and learned about tone, mood, character traits and point of view.

LA:  New voc. words given today. Test next Thursday.  Students should make flashcards by cutting a sheet of paper in to 10 squares and write the term on the front and the key definition word on the back.   We wrote a "goal letter to me" in class today about 3 goals each student has for his/herself this year.  We will put each in a separate envelope to open and read at the end of this year!  Please discuss our "Hornet's Nest Reading Fest" program with your child.  A letter and reading log was sent home yesterday.  Have a great weekend!
