WELCOME TO FOURTH GRADE

RELIGION:   This weeks  lesson Ch. 1 is entitled God Created the World.   It is of course the biblical story of creation.

MATH:  We will begin with Chapter 1 ,Place Value by identifying numbers 0 thru 100,000.

SOCIAL STUDIES GR.4:   We will begin by reviewing the HANDBOOK FOR READING SOCIAL STUDIES  as an introduction to our new book.   This section connects reading skills such as :summarizing,comparing and contrasting,sequencing and finding the main idea to their applications to a social studies curruculum.

SOCIAL STUDIES GR 3:   The third graders will begin their new book COMMUNITIES with Chapter 1 People,Places and Events.

LANGUAGE ARTS:

READING:  This week we begin with Unit 1 Reflections.  Our first story is called THE LOST LAKE and is a reflection on a father son camping trip.   We will also review the story elements of character and setting.

SPELLING:  Spelling Lesson 1 deals with words with tr,scr,str and squ blends.   The pretest will be on Tuesday with the test on Friday.

ENGLISH:   Unit 1 deals with the steps in the WRITING PROCESS and also a review of sentence structures.
