WINTER NEWS

WELCOME TO 2012.

RELIGION:   This week will be starting Unit 4: The Church, as well as Chapter 10 Called to Love.   

MATH:   Now we are working on using arrays to demonstrate multiplication and division fact families.   We are also focusing on learning the  Division Rules.

LANGUAGE ARTS:

ENGLISH:   This week we have moved on to Unit 4 where we are currently studying action,linking, main and helping verbs.

SPELLING:   We are currently on lesson 21 as usual the test is Friday.

READING:   This week we are reading" On the Bus with Joanna Cole" who writes about how she creates her books.   We are also creating an ABC book for our PK11 sharing partners.   They will also have a biographical book report in poster form that is due on February 29.   Encourage them to keep reading their Book It book.

GR4 SOCIAL STUDIES   We have moved on to Chapter 5 The Northeast Environment.   We are brushing up our map skills and learning how important the sea is to the Northeastern states. 

GR3 SOCIAL STUDIES:   Third grade is finishing up Unit 3   Many Cultures, One Country.   We will be finishing up the unit with some videos on map and globe skills.   The Open Book Vocabulary Quiz will be on Thursday, with the test next week.
