Monday: Pronoun Verb Agreement pp 354-355

SET:   TTW ask students to identify the subject pronouns in each sentence and note that one verb ends in -s and the other does not:  It tastes great.  They taste great. 

Closure: TTW have students summarize the rules for making sure that subject pronouns and present-tense action verbs agree.  TTW then provide a list of subject pronouns and have students create sentences using those pronouns as subjects.  They will make sure the verbs agree.

Tuesday: Combining Sentences pp 356-357

Set:  TTW ask students to identify the pronouns in these sentences:  She sent to the fair.  I went to the fair.  TTW ask students how the two sentences have been combined in this sentence:  She and I went to the fair.

Closure:   TTW have students summarize the sules for combining sentences by joining subject or object pronouns.

Wednesday:Possessive Pronouns pp 358-359

Set:TTW review what words can take the place of a noun.

Closure:  TTW have students catogorize possessive pronouns according to whether they are used before nouns or whether they can stand alone.

Thursday: Contractons pp 360-361;  Mixed Review pp 362-363

Set: TTW ask the students to explain the differences between your and you're.

Closure:  TTW have the students discuss how they can tell the difference between a pronoun-verb contraction and a possessive pronoun and summarize what they know about using pronouns to form contractions.

Friday- Common Errors pp 364-365

Set: TTW have sudents identify correct object pronouns by answering questions such as:  Is she standing by I, or is she standing by me?  Are you coming with us, or are you coming with we?  Is he standing with her, or is he standing with she?

Closure: TTW ask students to identify correct uses of subject pronouns, object pronouns, and apostrophes with pronouns and verbs in books they are reading.
