We will begin our study of Indian culture on April 20. The unit will include reading selections, plays, writing, and math activities. Students will be divided into tribes. Each child will be able to earn up to two gems per day, one for completed homework and one for good behavior. Students may also lose their gems for violating classroom or school rules. On Friday May 1, we will celebrate Market Day. Students will be able to spend the gems on goods made by other tribes.

We have tenativley scheduled our final second grade field trip for Friday May 15. We will visit the Mont Airy Regional History Museum. I will pass on more information as it becomes available.
