EXCEL 2^nd - 6^th grade

Baxterville School

This has been an exciting and busy year for myself and my EXCEL students. We will be wrapping up our year the week of May 2^nd – May 5^th with an end of year celebration. The following weeks we will be preparing for and having MCT2 testing. Please see the schedule below for celebration days. I will provide drinks and paper products if your child can bring goodies of some sort to share with the class.

I have enjoyed this year of EXCEL and I look forward to accomplishing much more next year. I have already started planning several units with more hands on activities for the students, we all know that is what they really enjoy.

We will be able to purchase 3 IdeaPad Netbooks through parent group funds for the classroom for next school year. Once we receive those, we will have a total of 8 laptops to use in the classroom! These wireless laptops will assist in meeting the research process skill for our students.

With the district adopting the uniform dress code policy, I debated whether or not to offer an EXCEL t-shirt. Numerous students and parents have inquired, so the details follow. Attached you will find an order form. The t-shirt color will be Jade Green and the design will be the same as last year. The cost will be $8.50 each (2X & 3X $10.00) and the forms/money are due by Friday, May 6^th. Parents, students, and siblings are welcome to order.
