A big big Thanks goes out to the Cullasaja Club for hosting the Town of Highlands Scholarship Golf tournament again this year.  Several of the seniors made it out to help with carts and clubs, and their efforts are greatly appreciated.

Another big thanks goes to Buz Dotson for taking us to Appalachian State this past Saturday.  Those that made it for the early departure time had a great day touring the campus student center, dining facility(ies), dorm room(s), gym, and talking to the professors, students, and staff. The next trip will be planned after interest surveys are completed.

Scholarship Information is available in Guidance for the NC Teaching Fellows Program (various schools); and the Park Scholars Program at NCState 

College Application Week will be November 16-20.  Any senior who has not filled out an application will meet with me to complete at least 1 that week.  Several colleges are waiving application fees that week.

 Fresh"person" Parent Night is the following Tuesday, October 6th from 6-7.  Come hear about the future ready core graduation requirements for the class of 2013.

Finally, Sophomore and Junior Parent night will be the following Tuesday, October 13th, from 6-7.

Attention Senior Parents: You request has been processed and we will have a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) step by step workshop on February 23rd in the computer lab from 6-8pm.  Financial Aid Representatives from SCC and CFNC will be here to help you through the process.  You must complete your tax return for 2009 PRIOR to attending this workshop.
