Kelli Coons-5th grade ELA/SS

November 23rd -24th

 

Monday,  November 23rd

Standards: Reading: 5-2.5, 5-2.6, 5-2.7                      Writing: 5-5.4                          SS: 5-3.5

Procedures:

1.      Reading: Focus Question: How well can I create my brochure using the non-fiction text features?  Students will submit their completed informational text booklets for a daily grade.  Students will finish the final copy of their non-fiction brochure.

 

2.      Writing: Focus Question: How well can I edit/revise my brochure to publish? Students will publish the final copy of their book.

 

3.      SS: Focus Question: How did the Progressive Movement Begin? Begin working on study guide for Progressive Era.  Students should complete 1-6.

 

Assessment: class discussion,

Homework: 2 steps 100 BC

 

Tuesday, November 24th

Standards: Reading: 5-2.5, 5-2.6, 5-2.7                      Writing: 5-5.4                          SS: 5-3.5

Procedures:

1.      Reading: Focus Question: How can I best describe the informational text features that I used in my brochure?  Students will present their brochures. PROJECT/TEST GRADE

2.      Writing: Focus Question: How can I present my book? Students present brochures and turn in for a PROJECT/TEST GRADE  (S.C. State Rubric)

 

3.      SS: Focus Question: How did the Progressive Movement change the way people viewed the government? Students will continue working on study guide and complete 6-12.

 

Assessment: brochure rubric reading/writing, class discussion

Homework: 2 steps
