HERE'S WHERE YOU CAN FIND A SUMMARY OF PROJECT- RELATED ACTIVITIES FOR THE FOLLOWING COURSES:
ART 7/8
To create a poster with a meaningful message, students are enlarging a famous, well-known cartoon figure.

Photos were used to draw a rough sketch

Each will use a grid to create the enlarged version

Poster themes and messages are now due

Select a a calligraphic style or font for the lettering of words needed for the message of the poster

We begun to draw a grid on large (18"x24") paper

A water color wash as the base color will be applied to the figure

Markers, ink and colored pencil will be used to complete the lettering work to add texture, a border.......
HS STUDIO IN ART
Design a sculptured form based one of the characters created by the filmmaker, Tim Burton. research was done to gather ideas from one of his many films.
- Consider more than one solution to the problem
- Create many sketches Bring in a bag to store your supplies
- Using a bowling pin as the supportive armature, you will use mixed- media to design a new sculptured character, using your own ideas
- Make a list of all you will need to complete the sculpture
- Build your basic form to cover with the materials you have chosen ( paper, fabric, foil, plaster....)
HS STUDIO IN PHOTOGRAPHY
HERE DAILY: Folder, Photos, Notebooks, PSD exercises....
- DUE: Experiments with Filters/ Art Effects
- Create an original image, re-size, print and submit
Work in progress:
- Continue to practice using Photo Shop Exercises
- Begin Research to create a final, independent project, due at the end of the term in lieu of a final exam
HS ADAPTIVE ART
WORK IN PROGRESS:CREATE A VIRTUAL TOUR OF OUR SCHOOL!
Students created maps of the school with Ms. Bevan in Technology. They made lists of all locations where photos are needed and are now working with Ms. Vatalaro in Art to take a sequence of photos in all locations of the HS. They will store their pictures in e-folders to organize and work with them in Art.
They will then use the sequence of photos taken in Art class in another computer program with Ms. Bevan, to create a complete tour of the school.
THE PROCESS:
- Practice and use your own password every day
- Find interesting facts about subjects/ cameras/and photography on the internet
- Divide into 2 groups and name your photo team.
- Assign work to all members of the group
- Each student will take photos of 4 or 5 locations in school
- Know who is taking photos of what!
- Learn about our digital cameras (and some old ones too)
- Learn to make e-folders for your photo assignments
- Create one e-folder for each room on your list
- Log on and find your folders to move photos into them as we take them from the cameras
Practice using the feautures of the cameras
- Take pictures of each other
- Take photos of your sculptures
Download photos into H dirves and e-folders
Take photos of locations you are each assigned in your groups and store them in the proper folders
