Welcome to seventh grade math. My name is Ms. McNeil; this is my seventh year at Johnston. Previously I taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math at Welch for five years and have worked at an elementary school in H.I.S.D. (grades 2-5) for 11 years. I am originally from the Boston area and I have teaching experience in both elementary and junior high in the Northeast and overseas with the Dept. of Defense.

Your child should receive class requirements and a list of supplies. I request that you review it with your child and return the signature section ASAP. Textbooks will be available for checkout and students are requested to leave their math textbook at home. We have a vested interest in your child and I want each student to be successful. I have high expectations and demand students to be responsible. I am available for help if students seek assistance. Homework is not an option and will be assigned on a regular basis. This site will be used to notify you of projects, due dates, and general policies. I will try to update it every two to three weeks. MONDAY REVIEW assignments will be given throughout the year. Date of issue and due date will be given through this site. No late work will be accepted.

The plan is to assign the MR on Mondays and the assignment will be due on Friday of that same week. If yor child has math class on Monday (it will alternate), then you should expect them to have an MR which will be due on Friday of the same week. This will begin on Sept. 13, 2010. If this changes, notification will be sent out via school notes. Projects will be assigned and the assignments and due dates will be posted. This will be done at the same time the students are given the information.

The first MR (Monday Review was given to Period 5,7, and 8.  The assignment is due on Monday (9/20) due to the holiday.  These classes will also receive MR #2 which will be due on Sept. 24.  There will be an interim District Assessment during the week of Oct. 1.  A test will be given the following week on material covered to that point.  The students will bring home a list of the objectives that will be tested.
