Welcome to the New Year....2010!!

Here are a few things going on at school:

    Parent signature forms need to be returned by March 26, 2010.

     Many students have run out of notebook paper for my class.  Make sure that they have notebook paper. 

     April 9th is the next spirit day at Clearwood.  Your child may wear their spirit shirts and khakis to school.

     Picture money and pictures are due on March 26.  Please send those into the homeroom teachers.

     Spring Break begins!  No school next week, March 29 through April 5.  We will return on Tuesday of the following week. (Four day school week).

     ILEAP Testing coming up!

     All students will be encouraged to bring in something this Friday after their chapter test, I am going to allow them to have an Easter/Spring party.  Please send in enough for your child's class. 

    

 

    

 

Monday:  March 22, 2010

1.     Students completed two Daily Geography questions.  These will be picked up at the end of the week for a grade.

 

2.     Students added 7 map additions to their map of Europe.  They are:  Portugal, Germany, and Rhodes. (Test Thursday!)

 

3.     Students took notes and discussed Alexander the Great.

        Topics were:

              *Parents and childhood

              *Famed horse-Bucephalus

              *Teacher - Aristotle

              *Dysfunction of family

              *Death of father

              *Accomplishments of Alexander

              *Death of Alexander

              *Impact of Alexander on the world

4.    Students received a study guide last week.  Complete study - Chapter test Friday.

 

    

Tuesday - March 23, 2010

1.     Students completed two Daily Geography questions.

2.     Students practiced ILEAP skill.  14 questions on HISTORY.  Students were given time to work on this and then went over the correct answers in class.

3.     Reviewed notes and information on Alexander the Great.

4.     Started going over the study guide for their test on Friday.  Make sure they are studying every night for this test.   

 

 

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

1.     Students completed two Daily Geography questions.

2.     Students checked the study guide in class.  They have the correct answers.  Went over any questions or concerns they have for the test.

3.     Students did a Political Cartoon for practice on the ILEAP.  They answered 5 questions about the cartoon and we went over those in class.

4.     Students also did an ILEAP practice on timelines (about steam boats).  Completed this and went over in class.

5.     If time permitted, then we went over what feudalism was.  Topic for the ILEAP!

 

 

Thursday, March 25, 2010

1.     Students completed two Daily Geography questions.

2.     Students will be taking a map test on their map of Europe and the new as well as the old additions.

3.     Students will also do another ILEAP practice on time zones.  We will go over the correct answers on the activity.

4.     We will review for the chapter test on ancient Greece.  They have had their study guides all week.  Homework every night should be to study. 

 

Friday, March 26, 2010

1.     Students completed two Daily Geography questions.

2.     Chapter Test on Ancient Greece. 

3.     After the test on Ancient Greece, the students will be allowed to have a small Easter/Spring party before the holidays.  This party will be given according to their behavior for the next few days.  If their behavior warrants a party, they will receive one.
