Procedures are a part of life.

Just as you need to know the procedures of any sport to participate successfully, you need to know what procedures will help you succeed in this class.



I. GENERAL CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS:



* Participate in class activities and discussions



* Follows Student handbook rules



* Respects others - their property - no insults



* Be in your seat writing the objectives when the bell rings



* Be prepared each day with materials & homework(pen, notebook, folder, etc.)

Failure to follow the above classroom expectations will lead to:

a) an after school social skills teaching detention

b) a call to your parents

c) administrative action

II. General Requirements for Success in this Class:

1. Participate in class in a positive manner.

2. Keep a well-organized notebook for the class.

3. Do homework assignments.

4. Be prepared for quizzes and tests.





IIII. ITEMS NEEDED FOR SOCIAL STUDIES CLASS

1. spiral notebook (120 plus paper)

2. pen or pencil

3. Separate folder

4. Book cover



IV. **PLANNERS**

I expect students to daily write the objective for the day in their planner. This will help you focus on what you are expected to learn that day. Keeping these objectives is a graded assignment. If you are absent you are still responsible for the objective, they are located in a blue binder at the front of the classroom.



**NOTEBOOKS** All notes, maps, and assignments are to be kept in a History Notebook. A notebook check will be included in your daily grade.



V. PROCEDURES FOR MAKE-UP WORK and LATE GRADES

1. It is your responsibility to make up any work you missed when you return to school. Make up work is located in the red basket in the back of the room. If you will be absent for any sports event it is your responsibility to find out what your assignment is before you leave and make arrangements to complete your work on time.

2. You will have two days to complete makeup work for each day of an excused absence.



VII. LATE GRADES

Any work not turned in on time is considered late and worth 50% of the grade. This will affect your grade tremendously, so please turn your work in on the due date.
