TIP OF THE WEEK- Championships are here!  Time to make a withdrawal from the bank of hard work.


THIS WEEK'S PRACTICE SCHEDULE

 

Date:  Monday, May 17

Location:  Lions Field

Meeting-  room 201: last week’s results(the good and the bad), this week’s schedule andqualifiers; uniform returns, pep talk.

Warmups-      1 lap; sprint drills

Workout-        Kimber, Alyssa- 6 x 400m intervals w/ 400mwalk between

                        Lexi, David, Jacob, Ben-2 x 100m accelerations, 3 x 200m w/200m walk between, 3 x 150 buildups, 4 xflying 50’s

                        Caleb, Micah, Leland-hurdle stretching, hurdle drills, first 3 110m hurdles x 8                                          Josh, Tucker,Christy- 3k loop x 2 (first one warm up, second one fast)

                        Seth,Leah- 2 x 100m accelerations, 2 x 150m buildups, 300m hurdles last 3 hurdles x6

            THENJV Boys and Varsity Girls Relay Exchanges (exchange 1 and 3, then 2)

                        Christy Discus, Josh 300hurdles, Caleb Micah 4 x flying 50’s

Cooldown-    jog to barn and around 5 times; SS; 30 calfraises, 30L-45C-30R core

 

 

 

 

Date:  Tuesday, May 18

Location:  Lions Field

Warmups-follow the leader 4 minutes; drills, leg swings

Workout-        Kimber, Alyssa, Tucker, Christy- 8 x 200mw/200m slog in between (quick pace but not sprint)

                        Leah- 4 x 200m w/200mslog between; 4 x first 3 300m hurdles

                        Lexi- 2 laps 50min-n-outs, 2 x 150m buildups, 2 x 100m accelerations, discus practice.

                        Josh- first 3 300mhurdles x 5, sprint to finish; last 3 300m hurdles x 2

                        Micah, Caleb, Leland-  2 laps 50m in-outs, 2 x 150m buildups, 2 x100m accelerations, 5 x first 3 110m hurdles

                        David, Seth, Jacob- 2laps 50m in-n-outs, 2 x 150m buildups, 2 x 100m accelerations, relay exchanges1 and 2

Cooldown-    jog to mailbox and back to BB court; SS; 30calf raises; 30-30-30-30-30

Warmups- jogthrough back gate and down path to big walnut tree at end of fence; SS; DS

Workout- 2 x100m acceleration, 4 flying 40’s, relay exchanges; field event/hurdle practice

Cooldown- 1lap together, SS

 

 

 

 

Date:  Friday, May 21

Location:  West Valley High School, Cottonwood.  Division 4 Championships!  Arrive at school in uniforms by 8am; we willpray together at 8am then leave the school no later than 8:20am.  Return time: ~4pm after a visit to the Cottonwood shake shack

Varsityathletes who place first earn a trip to the NSCIF Championships next Friday,May 28th.  Second placefinishers should practice and suit up as alternates.  Alternates will need to check in when theirevent is called to see if there are scratches and if their seed time/distanceis good enough to take an empty spot. The meet is a high level meet and very fun to watch.  I hope you will all consider going,especially if you think you’d like to be there someday!  MEET DETAILS TO FOLLOW IF NECESSARY

AllJV athletes and all non-qualifiers for Northern Section Finals must wash, foldand return uniforms by Friday, May 28th
