   LATEST NEWS from SEMS Instructional Technology Facilitator! The 8th grade NC Test of Computer Skills Test has been eliminated this year due to lack of funding from the NC General Assembly. More information will follow as we are made aware. Currently, both Mac Labs and the MacBook cart are being fully utilized with technology integrated lessons. 8th grade has been comparing North Carolina to other states. 7th grade has been studying the 5 themes of Geography. 6th grade has prepared a brochure on Ancient Greece and will be completing a web quest.

The items are not delivered randomly, nor are they divided into specific strand (i.e. database, word processing, etc.). This test measures the 2004 curriculum and contains approximately 41 objectives. There is a 50-50 ratio of multiple choice vs. performance items. The online test is a web-based delivery through NCDesk. NCDesk is an integrated Java Applications Suite.
