Be on the lookout for information about the Math League (9th through 12th grade students) programs.  Announcements have been made each morning and night with the flyers going out to students this past week.

Because of the short time span for the first trimester, Interims went out before the first major project in all Math classes.  Be sure to check HAC and look for addition Current Grade Sheets.  CGS's will be published for Integrated Math III after I score their Rules of Exponents Assessment.

When you visit HAC or get a current grade sheet this year you will notice that some homework/classwork assignments have zero for the value.  The scores for assignments of this type will be COM if the assignment was completed.  If RE is in the score line, the student has been given the assignment back to revise/edit their original work in order to demonstrate that they have revised their original answer to reflect their greater understanding of the concept(s).  INC in the score line means the student did not have the assignment finished when it was due.  When the student completes the assignment credit will be given in the Formative Assessment packet.  No numeric value will be registered - but the fact that the work was not completed in a timely manner will be reflected in the students Habit of Mind scores.

Integrated Math IV (Advanced Math) will digress from their study of the Pennant Race to solidify their understanding of how tree diagrams work in conjunction with the area diagram of probability.

Integrated Math III will be extending their work with non-integer exponents as we begin our study of logarithms, scientific notation, and order of magnitude.

Integrated Math II will be continuing to explore the Pythagorean Theorem and its many uses.

CAP projects need to be solidified by Oct 30th.  Solidified means the final proposal is approved.  A minimum of 20 hours of community service and journals # 5 through #9 are also due.
