Integrated Math III students have been working on reconnecting with a unit on exponents based on the story of Alice in Wonderland.  This week we will be extending our study to introduce logarithms as a way of comparing numbers by looking at their rate of growth (the exponent).

Advanced Math students are continuing their study of statistics through a unit entitled Pennant Fever.  We are determining the difference between the possibilities and the probabilities of each of those possibilities.

Pre-Calc is studying systems of more than two equations in Meadows or Malls.  We have looked at our solutions in terms of 3-dimensional space and are now summarizing the algebraic methods of solving those systems.

The Dance/Color Guard class has almost completed their initial reports on the 10 different dance styles.  In addition, we've begun to stretch, learn ballet position basics and basic spins with both 6-foot flag and poles and 3-foot swing flags and poles.  Our first performance was this past Saturday in Wesley College's Homecoming parade.  The girls will also be performing at CCHS's Homecoming Rally on October 23rd as well as Delaware State University's Homecoming Parade on October 24th.

Information about the Math League (9th through 12th grade students) programs is now available.  Students who are interested in participating can get the permission form from any Math teacher or from the bulletin board outside Ms. Clarke's office.  Practices problems will be covered on Monday's in room 133 from 3:10 to 4:00 PM.  Students who drive to school may drive to the meets with written parent permission.  Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
