Dream! Believe! Dare! Do!

-Walt Disney

Welcome to Fifth Grade

We are excited about another wonderful year! Fifth grade is both fun and challenging! The children grow up so much in the fifth grade! Take plenty of pictures because you are going to watch them change in front of your eyes!

We are also very excited to have an extra set of hands to help around the classroom. Ms Brittany Burleson will be with us until December! Thanks for all your help, Ms Burleson!

Your child will have some homework each night. We, as fifth grade teachers, encourage your child to copy down assignments as they are put on the board. Please ask your child to let you see the assignments each night.  I do post homework weekly on this page, but assignments do change at times.  The most accurate place to look for homework will be in your child's assignment book.  Test dates for social studies and science will be copied down as well, and students are usually given several days to prepare using a study guide.  To encourage independence we do not require a parent signature each day.

We will send home weekly folders containing your child's work.  Parents need to sign the back of the folder and return all work papers and the folder each week.  If you have any questions or concerns feel free to email me or give me a call at Hurley. I will get back with you as soon as possible.  We all want what is best for your child!
