Saddle up for success! Lasso your learning! Welcome to fifth grade! We are going to have a great year! I am very excited about the new technology that we have to use in our classroom! I have taken several workshops this summer to learn how to use all of it ! I can not wait to try it all out! We stay so busy in fifth grade! We change classes in both reading and math. Changing classes helps to get the children ready for that big step into middle school. It also allows us to work with them on their ability level. Please be patient as we place each child in just the right group. It is going to be a fast paced, fun year! If you need to contact me please do so by email at bellnf@rss.k12.nc.us or by calling the school at 704-639-3038 We will be covering the following skills for the next several weeks : Reading/Language Arts- comprehension, vocabulary, nouns (common/proper; singular/plural) Math- estimating quotients, 1-digit division, word problems, divisibility rules Social Studies- Native Americans/Explorers/Election Science/Health- weather, climate November 19 - 25 Please check your child's agenda for actual assignments! These pages are just a general overview of what we have covered in class. Also remember that your child has several different teachers and their assignments might be different.
