Sliding Into Winter READING, WRITING, AND COMMUNICATION TOPS OUR LIST. February Events ************************************* Word Skills (Vocabulary) remain a part of our 8th Grade studies. We are working on Lesson 27. Nightly review is the key to vocabulary success! Next test 2/10/10. Journals, reading skills, and language review will be a part of our daily routine. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Period Classes - Propaganda Techniques are being studied. We are reading literature that focuses on these. Classes have begun a simulation where they work for an advertising agency. Jobs have been assigned and projects chosen as we begin our adventure. Blogging continues. Be sure to check out the new topic posted February 4th. Responses are due by February 12th. AIG Students are studying Utopia. This is a new curriculum from William and Mary. A class syllabus is posted at the links at the bottom of the page. Homework: 1st, 2nd, 3rd Period: 2/8 - Vocabulary page 71 Exercise 5 LONG RANGE ASSIGNMENT 2/4 - Begin your media observation project. This is due on Friday, February 12th. 2/5 - Blog #5A due 2/12 Homework: AIG 4th Period 2/8 - Vocabulary page 71 Exercise 5 2/8 - Read "Harrison" page 13 and complete a Literature Web. Long Range Assignment Blog #5B due 2/12
