Homework is assigned nightly. Please sit with your child and help him/her as the work. As notes that have come home have stated, please do not spell for your child. He/she needs to be stretching the word and recording the sounds that are heard. It is not important that words be spelled correctly. It is important that your child learn how to stretch a word and listen for the sounds.

 

In math children are learning about 3 dimensional shapes, basic fractions, and will soon begin adding and subtracting.

 

In Reading students are currently being tested on all sight words and phonograms taught to date. We are also working on listening comprehension as we address the characters, setting, as well as, the problem and solution of stories.

 

It is still very important that you read to your child on a nightly basis and record it on the monthly reading log.

 

 PLEASE empty your child’s BEAR book on a nightly basis. Also, please be sure to read and sign the weekly parent letter.  Thanks!
