Tips to "Bee" Successful in Class

  • Be at school on time and ready to learn every day.
  • Be honest and respectful with words and actions.
  • Listen when others are speaking.
  • Follow directions the first time.
  • Complete all work in a timely fashion.
  • Always do YOUR best.

Rewards and Consequences

Students will receive a "stop light page" each week that will be sent home each night and is to be returned to school each morning.  The page is expected to be signed nightly regardless of the color your child ends up on each day.  After three verbal warnings or a serious infraction of our classroom rules, students will move to a yellow light.  After three additional warnings or severe infraction of rules, students will move to a red light.  If your child ends the day on a yellow light, a note will be written on the page from me.  If your child ends the day on a red light, a note will be written and there will also be a phone call home.  Please note that severe rule infractions that cause danger to students or staff may result in meeting with the principal.

Students have the opportunity to receive a variety of rewards for good behavior.  These include, but are not limited to, verbal praise, extra recess time, dolphin dollars, etc.  There are also opportunities to receive class rewards for working together.  When we receive compliments from staff members or have mornings/afternoons where everyone is on task we will earn a number for our hundred's chart.  When we earn a BINGO on the chart, the class will receive a pre-determined reward!

Homework

Students will receive a weekly math homework packet and reading homework packet (those students in my reading class).  These packets will be sent home on Friday's (allowing eager children to complete it over the weekend if they like) and are due completed no later than the following Friday.  These packets hold the same amount of work that "nightly" assignments would and can be turned in anytime throughout the week.  *Please note that sometimes there are assignments that may be due on a specific date, these will be noted on this website and in your child's planner.*

After School

It is very important that I have accurate information about how your child is going home after school.  If your regular routine changes please send a note with your child that day or call the school so that the office can inform me prior to the end of the day.
