Monday----- 1. Complete practice book pages 387-388.
Tuesday---- Write each Spelling word 5 times each in ABC Order. (in cursive)
Wednesday----- 1. Write 5 sentences using 2 of the spelling words in each sentence. Write 1 interrogative, 2 declarative, 1 imperative, and 1 exclamatory sentence.
Thursday----- 1. Have parents to give trial test over all words. Parents will check and
sign. You are to write each misspelled word five times each in cursive.
****Each assignment is turned in daily this week.

Theme 6 : Selection 3 Vocabulary : My side of the Mountain
- cache: a hidden store of goods
- fashion: to make into a particular form
- harsh: cruel and severe
- harvesting: gathering plant parts to be eaten later
- migration: a mass movement of an animal group to a different habitat, usually in search of food
- storehouse: a place where supplies are stored for future use
- survival: the preservation of one’s life; the continuing of life
- blazed: marked or cut, as when making a trail
- aspen: a type of tree with leaves attached by flattened leaf stalks so they flutter readily in the wind
- bulbs: underground stems or roots
- tubers: swollen, usually underground stems, such as potatoes
- sedges: plant resembling grasses, but with solid rather than hollow stems
- talons: the claws of a bird of prey
- mantle: a covering; a cloak
- burrows: holes or tunnels dug in the ground by small animals
- warblers: small birds, many of which have yellowish feathers and markings
- funnel: a shaft, flue, or stack for the passage of smoke
- props: devices used to support something
- lure: a bunch of feathers attached to a long cord, used in falconry to bring the hawk back
- jesses: short straps fastened around the legs of a hawk to which a leash may be attached
- ventilate: to let fresh air into a place
- tethered: bound with a rope or chain to limit how far one can move
- ferocity: the condition of being extremely savage or fierce
- beady: small, round, and shiny
- propped: kept from falling; supported
- ox bow: a U-shaped bend in a river or stream
- hemlock: a type of evergreen tree with short, flat needles and small cones
