UPDATE 1/3/12 - Happy New Year!!!!  FWHMS PTO has been busy over the holidays preparing for a great new fundraiser, a Volleyball Marathon.  A chance for the students to have some fun and raise much needed funds for the school.   These funds will help with pay for more after school clubs!

To run this event, we will need MANY volunteers.  The students will receive a pledge sheet and collect money based on either a flat rate or a pledge per game.  The games will be played all day on Friday, February 17th.   The event will be running from 8am to 8pm that day.   Some details are attached below.

We need at least 3-5 volunteers CORI approved to help from 8am to 2:30pm. Then we need an additional 15 volunteers to help run the "stay and play" portion of the day from afterschool until 8pm. We will have a raffle table, chaperoning duties and concession stand to run.   Valid CORI forms are also necessary for the afterschool volunteering.   So - can we count on you?  Please contact me if you can volunteer a 2 hours (or more if possible) shift.

We've also signed up for the Stop & Shop A+ program. Our school can earn money on items you purchase by registering your S&S card.  Please go to www.stopandshop.com/aplus to register your card online.  PLEASE USE SCHOOL ID: 07080 or dial 1-877-275-2758.  If you registered last year, you have to do it again.  This a great opportunity to raise some extra funds.

The 6th graders will be having another Social on Friday, January 27th from 6pm to 9pm.  We need at least 12-13 volunteers to run the raffle table, snack table and chaperone the DJ area.  If you have a valid CORI and want to volunteer, please contact me.  Also, please consider donating an item to our raffle table.  It can be a gift card (itunes, game stop, etc) or anything you feel the kids would want to win!  Items can be brought in the night of the Social.

If you do not have a valid CORI, attached is a copy of the CORI form application.  It needs to be completed and brought the the FWHMS office in person to confirm identity and be submitted.  It takes about 3-4 weeks to be approved.  If you want to volunteer for any of the CORI required events, please complete this form in time.  If you need to know if you have a valid CORI, please let me know and I can have it checked for you.   If you have a valid CORI with MES, JFK, AFM or BMR you are all set.  We are looking for a district approved CORI.  Sports approvals do not count.

Lastly, our next PTO meeting is Wednesday, January 11th at 7pm.  Please attend - we have a lot going on and need all the help we can get!  Don't be shy - we are a friendly group!
