3. Language Arts – Mrs Thomas Book(s) Needed: Novels Assignment: Write “Pro/Con” at the top of each article. Write the side you are arguing under “Pro” and the side you are against under “Con”. For example, if you are for school uniforms, you’ll write “We should have school uniforms” under “Pro” and “We shouldn’t have school uniforms” under “Con”. Then, highlight all of the pros in the article (everything that gives reasons we should have school uniforms) and underline all of the cons in the article (everything that gives reasons why we should not have school uniforms). Do this for all articles. Once you’ve read, highlighted, and underlined everything, get a plain piece of paper and divide it down the middle. Write “Pro” on one side and “Con” on the other.
