Ideas for keeping your child's skills sharp all year long:

1. Read EVERY night! Work on sounding out words and don't forget comprehension questions on your reading log!

2. Practice addition and subtraction using a number line, hundreds board, counting on, and counting back. By the end of the year first graders will need to be able to count to 100 and and recognize number words to 100!!!

3. Work on good handwriting! If you need handwriting paper to practice at home, please let us know!

4. Help your child learn to tie their shoes and practice good hygeine.

5. Make sure your child knows their home phone number, address, and birthday.
