 Wow! What weather!  Even with all the crazy weather, we always work hard when we are at school. Students continue to make great progress academically.  Our continual goal is to become stronger readers and more independent workers.

Our reading now is focusing on animals.  We'll enjoy reading about a wide variety of animals in various genres. (i.e.-fiction, chapter books, fantasy, etc.) We also read silently on a daily basis to reach our second grade reading goal for the school.

In Math we have been learning about probability, geometry, money, and telling time.  We work continually on solving problems that require higher level thinking skills.

Social Studies has been a study about customs and traditions in various countries.

In Science we will soon begin a unit on sound. We'll be making vegetable soup as we study about nutrition and food groups.

Fit For Motion works with our students weekly to encourage better eating habits and good daily exercise.  Thanks for helping your child remember to wear their FFM shirt each Friday!
