Welcome Back!
I hope you had a wonderful summer and are ready to make music.  Recorders will be ordered soon.  Fifth grade students will be learning to play Ode To Joy for the NC Symphony concert on November 17th. 
First through Fourth Grade students will be reviewing the music notes and symbols.
Welcome to the new Kindergarten students.  We will be singing welcome songs and finding the beat.

Mrs. Gunther
Mrs. Gunther began her musical journey singing in the children's choir at Mt. Zion UCC.  She attended Landis Elementary, Corriher Lipe Middle School and South Rowan High School.  At South Rowan she was a member of the Chorus under the direction of Gary Shive, and president her senior year.  She was also president of the FHA and a member of the FTA.
She graduated from Brevard College with a Junior College degree.  At Brevard she was a member of the Brevard College Choir and Madrigal Singers. 
She also graduated from Greensboro College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music K12. At Greensboro College she was a member of the college choir. 
She has taught General Music at West Rowan Junior High.  She taught kindergarten, third and fourth grade at Gospel Light Baptist School. She was an assistant at Landis Elementary and now teaches music at Landis and Millbridge Elementary.
Mrs. Gunther has been given the privilege of assisting Mr. Street with the  South Rowan and Carson Marching Bands. Mrs. Gunther was named Teacher of the Year 2000.
She attends Grace Baptist Church. Her daughters are Anita Hallman and Faith Gunther, son in law, Scott.  She has a dachshund named Sweetpea and a cat named Girlfriend.  She enjoys baking bread, teaching music, watching Tarheel basketball and football games, shopping and spending time with Anita( Expecting her first child in May.), husband Scott and Faith.
