What's Happening? Reading/ Language Arts: Theme 3: Let's Look Around Week 3 Story: At the Aquarium Phonics Skills: short vowel words with CVC pattern, contractions with "is" (where is = where's, what is = what's, who is = who's) Comprehension Skills: summarizing Spelling Words we when your can said Mathematics: Math Assessment and graphing Science/ Social Studies/ Health: Native Americans Reading Logs: Should be kept at home throughout the week and returned to school on MONDAY morning. We will check to see how much the children are reading and return the logs that night. Your child's goal is to read 15 books each month. See 'Book It' Readers! 'Book It' Readers: The 'Book It' program will run October 1-March 31. The 'Book It' program is in cooperation with Pizza Hut. Every child that reads a minimum of 15 books per month will receive a 'FREE Personal Pan Pizza' certificate. This certificate must be used during the following month or it will become invalid. *If you are interested in seeing exactly what your child is expected to learn in FIRST GRADE, please CLICK HERE.
