****Quick Tips on How Parents Can Help Children Succeed on EOG Tests: *Attendance makes a difference--teachers can't teach students who aaren't in school. *Good Health=Good Test Scores--Your child must be physically fit. Be sure you child always eats a good breakfast, gets plenty of sleep (8-9 hours daily), and exercise every day. *Comprehension--Use the newspaper, use nonfiction books *Reading Rate--schedule reading time every day and have you child read silently. *Vocabulary--Learn a new word every day, have a "newspaper scavenger hunt" Overcome Test Anxiety: Don't cram Read the directions carefully Don't be afraid to skip a question--if there's time, go back to the items you skipped (from the Parent Institute)
