Dear 6th grade Parents and Students,

   I just wanted to let everyone know that the end of the 2nd quarter has now come and gone.  Monday the 25th is the start of the 3rd quarter, please be aware that 2nd quarter report cards will be coming home February 4th.  If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me at school and we will discuss any concerns. By keeping the lines of communication open and clear we will ensure that this happens.   If we want all of our students achieve and do their best, we must all work together.  I look forward to continuing to work with all of you this year.  Please don't hesitate to come by and see me if you have a question or concern.

      Make sure to review and sign the agenda each night.  If you don't see homework completed, please don't sign the agenda.  

    Students, remember to be completing your Keeping Skills Sharp activity, it is due every Wednesday or Thursday in the event of a holiday.  We will be working on Fractions and the application of fractions with proportions over the next 2 weeks.   Our next ClassScape check up is currently going very well and we hope to have it completed by next Tuesday (February 9th).  The students seem to be working very hard and I am excited to see their results.

    The Study Island internet-based tutoring program is up and running and your child has math activities assigned to them..  I have assignments on my Study Island site right now.  There is a direct link to the site at the bottom of this page.  students can log in using their first name followed by a hyphen, then their last name followed by a period and sems.  Their password is whatever they set up last year.  I now have a list of all passwords, if you would like them to work with study island at home please send a note in their agenda and I will write down their login and password.

      Also, I want to remind everyone to learn their 12 powerful words , I have included flashcards at the bottom of this page.  These flashcards include the spelling, definition, the word in a sentence and a question using the word.  Don't forget, you get your bracelet when you complete the Fab 5.

    I also wanted to let parents know that I have added a new link to the bottom of my web site which will allow you to go and view sample problems from previous released EOG questions.  These are great review/practice tools for your 6th grader to go over at home and become accustomed to the type of question they will see in May.
