Nobles Math and Science Happenings 2011-2012 January 20th-February 3rd, 2012
The semester has come to an end and we continue to strive for excellence here on the Nobles' team. We will have some exciting events coming up on our team, in the way of field trips, your child will bring home information on these if he/she is eligible to participate in these. We continue to focus on learning operating procedures and school rules here at Southeast. We need to begin focusing on making sure the students are doing their best on every assignment. Please make sure to support our school rules and policies at home by reminding students to do their best. We continue to stress the importance of attendance every day here at school and the priority of getting all assignments completed on time. If a student was absent on the date they may make it up and receive all points awarded for the assignment. However, if the student was here and just failed to turn it in on time they will still receive points, but the points will be pro-rated depending on how late the assignment is turned in (usually -10 points per week it is late). In Science this quarter our main focus will be on Rocks and Minerals. While in Math we will be focussing our learning this quarter largely on Probability. I hope to have an improved 2nd semester and keep your eye out for the report, along with this there may be a possible be a Possible Retention letter, which simply means if they are not performing their best, then they have the possibility of being retained in 6th grade, for the 2012-2013 school year. Remember, if you need to reach Mrs. Walker or myself don't hesitate to call the school (704) 638-5561 or send us an email. We have started utilizing the homework hotline (704)638-6484 ext. 312, to find out nightly homework assignments. Lastly, please make sure to sign your child's agenda each night and check to see if anything is highlighted that was not complete from the night before.
