Book Fair Is Here!
Our Fall Book Fair will run from Monday, 11/17 through Friday, 11/21.
This will be a good time to start your holiday shopping or add to your at-home library.

There will be NO OPEN CHECK-OUT in the Library during Book Fair week.  


Thanksgiving Holiday
Students will be dismissed from school at 12:45 on Tuesday, 11/25.
Children and staff return to school on Monday, December 1st.

Welcome to the 2008-2009 school year!

Our school day begins at 7:45.
Children are dismissed at 2:15.



Tips and reminders:
* If your child needs to eat breakfast, he/she needs go straight to the cafeteria before coming to the classroom.
Lunchtime is at 12:11
That is a LONG time for 3rd graders to go without eating.
Please be sure your child eats a nutritious breakfast daily.

* When sending lunch money to school, place it in an envelope labeled with your child's name and PIN number.

* Transportation changes must be in writing. For the safety of the children, whenever your child needs to change his/her way home, please send a note.

*Agendas must be returned to school daily.  
The children will have homework most evenings and assignments are written in the agenda.

Your job is to sign your child's agenda nightly AFTER checking to be certain that ALL assignments have been completed.

Schedule 
Our specials begin at 7:55.  Please be sure your child is on time for school so he/she does not miss instruction from these specialists.

Specials:
Monday: none
Tuesday: (A week): Guidance with Mrs. Ward
                (B week): none
Wednesday:  Computer Lab (most weeks)
Thursday:  Music with Mrs. Gunther
Friday:  (7:55-8:35) Art with Mrs. Nance
              (8:40-9:20) * PE with Mr. Faulkenbury
**Please be sure your child wears athletic shoes on Friday.

Media and Computer Lab have become "flex scheduled." This means is that we do not have a set day and time for these specials.  It is instructional driven based on topics being studied.

HOWEVER, be sure your child brings his/her library books to school daily.  The children will several opportunities during the week to exchange library books. A.R. goals can be met through hard work (meaning) the frequent exchange of library books.
