Allied Health Science 2

We are almost through all skill units - practicing makes perfect as you know - I cannot stress enough to you that you must have a passion and desire for health care. It is more than making beds, giving baths and doing vital signs - each day presents a new experience. This year we are having to look in places we never had to look before with the H1N1 outbreak - the hospital is a great site but they are looking at the well being of you as well as their patients.

We may be starting as early as December 1st with clinicals - we will be ready - please use your time wisely in class - socializing is not a place for practice time. This should be done after school.

Health Team Relations

So proud of the success in the quarter test - you really did outstanding - remember to turn in all work on time, your articles are due at the end of the month you are assigned or before. Come to school prepared each day.

You need to make a habit of going to the bathroom before class or at the end of class before the bell - Emergencies do arrive and I understand this -

Med Science 2

Every mentorship site I have visited has had great remarks on the jobs you are doing - Keep up the good work - some have not turned in time sheets or returned test - this will be reflected on your report cards next week. Remember to go in uniform, clean, ironed and with your name tags. I visit sites each day and come unannounced as you may know.

I will be giving study guides for the Vocats soon, work on your portfolios and project.

Also, I have students that have been as little as no hours and as many as 21 hours so far. This is your responsiblity to complete the necessary hours for the honors course.

The Health Academy Club is up and running with great meetings and events - Some have not attended events and will be dropped from the club. Shirts look great - they are in - It is important for you to visit our web page at www.martindm.webs.com for all the information. No news letters will be coming out with the copies being cut in numbers. Our next meeting is Nov 12th at 7 pm in the media center - plan to be in attendance.
