At any time during the school year, I can be reached at 757-2160 or clarkg.cme@pitt.k12.nc.us.  Please feel free to get in touch with me anytime.

I will be offering after school tutoring on Tuesday's until 4:00.

Pre-Algebra

Students are working on percents to decimals to fractions.  I have given each student a list of percents they have to know.  During the 1st part of this unit, the students will not be able to use a calculator.

Test will be Monday, Feb. 15th without a calculator.

Next the students will be using a calculator finding percent of change, sales tax, discount, and percent word problems.

Math

Students will be finishing up with ratio and proportions.  They will be working on scale drawing and solving for scale factor.

Next, we will be moving on to percents.  sales tax, percent of change, discount, and percent word problems

*** STUDENTS HAVE HOMEWORK EVERY NIGHT.  PLEASE MAKE SURE THEY ARE COMPLETING IT.
The following things students need to bring to class each day:

1. Bring textbook, workbooks, pencils, folders, and paper everyday.

2. Be on time to class.

3. Have pencils and homework out when class starts.

The following things parents need to be aware of:

1. Students will have homework nightly and sometimes on week-ends. If your child misses 2 homework assignments in a row, I will be contacting you.

2. Projects will be assigned throughout the year.

3. Students will not begin using calculators until the middle of the 2nd nine weeks. Please do not allow them to use calculators until we begin using them in class.

4. Your child will be using a TI-83 plus Calculator in my classroom. The calculator your child uses at home does not have to be a TI-83 plus.

5. My grading is as follows:

15% homework

5% weekly warm ups

30% classwork

50% Tests
