 VALENTINE'S
*Your child has received a list of boys/girls names in my homeroom. The procedures for doing so are very simple.  There has to be enough for ALL students in the class.  If your child wants to bring candy, that is fine, but there has to be the same number of pieces for each child in the class.  Extra pieces can be used in our class candy dish for rewards.  No one has to bring cards or candy, the is completely optional.  We will not be having a party, but will hand out the baggies when the kids leave next Wednesday.  The candy can be enjoyed over the winter break and will NOT return with your child after the break.  If it does return with your child, it will be collected.  If you want to  bring in cookies, cupcakes, brownies, etc for the kids to enjoy next Wednesday afternoon that is fine, there just will not be an organized party.  
 
 
 
*Please be sure that your child has coloring items, glue, scissors, and paper for class.  


CLASS DOINGS

SCIENCE:

*We are continuing our unit of study on stars, constellations, etc.  Your child already has a graphic organizer for the 5 vocabulary words that we are using.  Please be sure that he/she is studying those. We have begun notetaking and these will need to be reviewed periodically. The final test will be the 10th of February. THIS IS A DATE CHANGE!!  If your child is not going to be here to take the test on the 10th please let me know so they can take it on Tuesday.  I don't want them to forget their information over the break.

 

MATH:

Monday we will be beginning a unit of study on fractions. 


UPCOMING DATES:

Monday, February 8th-picture day (individual and class pictures) Your child is welcome to bring  clothes to change into after the pictures.

Thursday-Monday, February 11-15- Winter Break   NO SCHOOL

 

 SPECIALS SCHEDULE FOR MY HOMEROOM

Lunch- 12:15-12:45 (with my #2 class)

Monday:       PE 1:35-2:15

                    Art 2:20-3:00      

Tuesday:      Computer Lab 2:15-3:00 (not every week)

Wednesday: NONE

Thursday:    PE 1:45-2:25

                    Counseling 2:30-3:10 (every other week)

Friday:         PE  1:35-2:15

                    Music  2:25-3:05


AR:

Please encourage your child to be reading thier AR book and taking their tests here at school.  My homeroom students are working to earn points and prizes.



RESPONSIBILITY:

Each child in the fourth grade is capable of being responsible for their belongings. If you have an emergency at home and your child cannot get an assignment completed, we understand, just send us a note. Late homework is not accepted (unless your child is absent).  They will need to be prepared with pencil and paper daily. They have a weekly folder that is due on Wednesday's. Don't be surpised if you begin to see more marks on the conduct calendar due to responsibility.
