*************************************************************************************

*Please be sure that your child has coloring items, glue, scissors, and paper for class.

Please make sure that your child is practicing on the CRCT website that I sent home about a month ago.  Any extra help is great and the qustions on this site are in CRCT format.

CLASS DOINGS

SCIENCE:

*We are still in our study of ecology.  Today your child began a graphic organizer for vocabulary words that will be studied in chapter 9.  We will finish it in class tomorrow and they will be expected to study it over the next two weeks.  We will be starting vocabulary homework next week because unfortunately I can see that students are not studying their graphic organizer (a great study tool) when they are told to do so.  Maybe this will help them get on a good track of keeping up with their studying.  Our test on chapter 9 will more than likely be on Thursday, March 25th.  They are more than welcome to bring home their book to read and review what is covered in class.  They will just need to make sure that the book is brought back to school daily.

MATH:

We are in our study of decimals and have studied place value, how to read, write, and say decimal numbers, how to find equivalent decimals, and comparing and ordering decimals.  Next week we will concentrate on rounding and adding/subtracting decimal numbers.  Our test on decimals will more than likely be on Friday, March 26th, but that is likely to change.

UPCOMING DATES:

Mon, Mar 15th- No School

Tues, Mar 16th- Report Cards .  The envelope will be due back signed by Thursday.  Happy tickets will be given on Wednesday to those that return it on that day.

AR:

Please encourage your child to be reading thier AR book and taking their tests here at school.  My homeroom students are working to earn points and prizes.  Each week I update them on their most recent AR points...ask your child what he/she has this week.

RESPONSIBILITY:

Each child in the fourth grade is capable of being responsible for their belongings. If you have an emergency at home and your child cannot get an assignment completed, we understand, just send us a note. Late homework is not accepted (unless your child is absent).  They will need to be prepared with pencil and paper daily. They have a weekly folder that is due on Wednesday's. Don't be surpised if you begin to see more marks on the conduct calendar due to responsibility.

If you have any questions this year please feel free to ask.
