Spelling words: week of May 25, 2008

no spelling words this week due to various activities going on.



Volunteers:



Please feel free to purchase ACE teacher store gift cards to finalize your volunteer hours.



Important Dates to remember:



5/25: NO SCHOOL! Memorial Day

5/27: book report due

5/27: Carnaval in school. The flier went home during the week.

5/28: field trip Miami Seaquarium

6/4: Early release and last day of school. Reports cards go home for the 4th quarter. NO LEAP on that day.



Planner: A planner will need to be purchused on orientation day or on the first day of school. Children will write homework and information in their planner on a daily basis. I will check the planner everyday for notes. Please do the same and initial for proof of review.



Red folder: Every Fiday your child will take home a red folder filled with work done during the week. The school will also send home important papers and forms that will sometimes need to come back to school. Please check red folders every weekend and retun it empty or with necessary papers and forms.



Blue Folders also called Homework Folders: Every Monday, your child will take home a Homework Folder with Math and Reading homework which should be completed during the week and returned the following Monday. Even if your child completes his/her homework before time keep the blue folder and return it the following Monday.



Spelling word book: A composition book also called a spelling word book will be sent home every Monday and returned the following Monday with the Homework folder. Children will pratice their spelling word following a specific daily schedule which will be attached to the spelling word book. Please follow directions properly so children get used to practicing their spelling words.



Spelling test: Children will be taking a spelling test every Friday starting in September. We will practice the spelling words on a daily basis in the classroom and children will laso practice them at home with you using the spelling word book.



I will check homework every week. Homework is mandatory and will be reinforced in the classroom. Please reinforce it a home.



Uniforms are mandatory and shirts should be tucked in every day.



School begins at 8am. Your child will be marked tardy at 8:05.We begin work promptly therefore it is very important that you drop off your child and leave.



Two conferences per year are mandatory. I will have a sign up sheet up on the door. If you need to talk to me about something specific please schedule a conference with me.
