April 30-May 4, 2012 -------> Don't forget: kids can get additional math practice on Study Island at home. <-------
Dates and Updates
Help needed! The kids love to lay on the floor and read. If you have an old quilt you would like to donate, the children would love to add it to their reading area. I have a few beach towels, but they get snatched up quickly.

Class Topics: Math: We are working a bit more with decimals to try to make sure we all have adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, ordering and rounding decimals. We'll get on fractions after our decimals assessment on Thursday. {Standards M4N5 & M4N6} Science: We will have been working with light (I'm sure you heard about the eyeball from Thursday) and will assess on Wednesday May 2nd. I have some sound activities planned and will assess on that topic on Wednesday May 16th. {Standards S4P1 & S4P2}
Homework: Ask to see your child's homework agenda to make sure this is the correct assignment for the day (plans sometimes change). All work (except tests) is due the following day so assignments may be brought home for parents to verify completion. We check that homework is written down each morning. ** disclaimer - This is spring....a season filled with nice weather (most of the time) and ball practices. I am doing my best to have as little homework as possible so that the children can enjoy it, however some will be necessary at times to reinforce and practice concepts learned. Many children are able to complete assignments during school, but they are all welcome to take them home for you to look over before handing in. Monday -
