Please note that these lesson plans are subject to change as the need arises. If a student is absent, it is his/her responsibility to inquire about the missed work. For each day missed, a student has one day to turn in a missing assignment.
Supplies needed for English: Black or blue ink pens for all writing Pencil for drawing only WIDE RULED loose leaf paper 70 page spiral (regular English only) Map colors Ruler Multi-colored highlighters (optional) 3 x 5 and 4 x 6 RULED index cards pocket folder (pre AP only) Week of May 18 regular English Monday: Students will get their new essay topic which will be due Friday. We'll continue with FRONTIER HOUSE all week during class time after warmups. Friday: Vocabulary test and spiral due Expectations: Introduction should have a good lead and strong thesis. Draft is on legal pad, skipping lines. It should be conferenced with a parent for content, not grammar, and then revisions should be completed. Ratiocination for lead type, CX sentences, IWABing and personal pronouns should be completed before the final copy. Final copy is on wide ruled loose leaf, front side only in pen and in cursive. It should be neatly edited before it gets to me. pre AP Students are presenting their poems to the class and have signed up for book report presentations. Their next full process writing is due May 28 on whatever they would like in any genre. |
