***WELCOME TO TEAM 6B!***

We are very excited to begin another year at Doherty Middle School and look forward to getting to know you all.  You will be amazed at the amount of learning, growth, and maturing that happens in the first year of middle school.  We encourage all of you to become actively involved in the Doherty community.  Let's start by introducing ourselves.  We are...

**Other Miscellaneous Information...

  • Schoolnotes is a tool we use on the Team to help parents feel connected to the school, and to give students a snapshot of their academic week.  For clutter's sake, previous weeks are deleted, but are available from me (Susannah Parker) if needed.  Please register your email to receive notification of site updates.  Also, for school wide information, sign up for the Doherty ListServ at http://www.aps1.net/ListServ/list_serv.htm.  Thanks!
  • Meetings - If you'd like to request a meeting with team teachers at any point in the year, please call the Guidance Office, the keepers of our schedule, at 978-623-8752.  Individual teachers can best be reached through email.
  • Snacks! - Waiting until 12:44 for lunch everyday can be long, especially when breakfast was over 5 hours ago.  We like to eat, and as such, we invite students to take two snack breaks if they so desire, one at 9:30 and the other at 11:05.
  • The Schedule- This can be tough for students and parents new to middle school to master.  On 6B, we have block classes Monday - Thursday.  On a regular 5 day week, students have two of their four academic team classes on each of those days, with 4 shorter classes on Friday. Students are assigned class groups by letter (A,B,C,D).  It can effect homework routines and time management, and we do talk quite a bit how to best use this schedule to the student's advantage.
    • i.e. MONDAY: A,B
    •    TUESDAY: C,D
    • WEDNESDAY: B,A
    •   THURSDAY: D,C
    •       FRIDAY: A,B,C,D

Week-at-a-Glance: Week 12, November 17-21

**Grades close for Term 1 on Friday, December 5th.  Make sure any missing work is turned in before then or it will not be counted!**
