Makeup Work
Students are expected to contact their table partners to determine missing work when absent, or they may access our class?s homework Website on Schoolnotes.com described below. Students are allowed the same number of days they were gone to make up the work.
Homework
There is a list of all homework assignments for each period posted on the homework board in the classroom. Students are encouraged to review that list regularly and record homework and other assignments in their agenda.
The agenda is a vital tool for each student. By asking your child about their assignments and checking their agenda each day you will improve organization and responsibility.
Independent Reading Record (IRR)
Each student is required to read at least an hour and a half each week outside of his or her other class assignments. This can be any type of material they choose that is level appropriate (novels, magazines, short stories). He or she is to record what they read and the amount of time they spent along with a parent or responsible adult?s initials to confirm the time. This will be checked every Friday at the beginning of class. We will visit the Media Center every two weeks so that students can pick out books of their choice. Students may also check out books from our in-class library.
Extra Supplies?
Any extra supplies for the classroom is appreciated such as: paper, pens, pencils, markers, tape, scissors, staplers, tissue boxes, or anything else you think we can use in the classroom.
