Hi,

Just want to catch everyone up about ICC this year. Students will have spelling words on a weekly basis that will come from either the K-2 and 3-5 High Frequency Word List or the current LANGUAGE! unit they are studying in. The test will be on Thursday with a make-up on Friday. The student may either take a word card test or a written test. This has been very successful this year and gives a hands-on approach to Spelling. Please continue to study with your student.

Parents, please continue to read nightly for at least 15 minutes with your child. Practice makes a better reader.

Social Studies is working well now with 3rd grade studying about the local community in preparation for the Salisbury Walking Tour on March 30th and April 6th. Fourth grade is working a NC symbols notebook to tell us all that North Carolina has to offer.

Our class took a field trip on March 17th to the NC Transportation Museum in Spencer. We learned many things about our local history and the part that Spencer played in the history of the 20th century. Please check out the museum. Great fun locally!

Remember, we are sharpening our skills for the end-of-year tests with Success Maker, ClassScape, and Children's Progress. Make sure your student has plenty of rest for the days ahead.
