Time: First session 6:00-6:20 LA and Math, Second session 6:20-6:40 LA and Math . Two twenty minute sessions are being planned to share ideas with parents about how they can help their children with skills in LA and Math. Ms. Tierney and Mr. Stafford will be leading these information sessions.
Who attends: One parent and student-optional Green Sheets were sent home Friday 1/29 so parents could RSVP to reserve a seat to attend and become aware of how you can help raise your child's test scores in May!!! Parents need to sign and complete to reserve a seat for the EOG information meetings being planned form 6:00-6:45 p.m. on Feb. 12. Students that were absent can print off this sheet which is attached to school notes under EOG Prep Class ...scroll down to download this sheet. SCIENCE-Friday, Jan 29-Homework-finish the first four Discovery Education Explorations (Speed of Sound, Catch A Wave, Makin' Waves, Energy Transfer). You need to write down 3 things learned from each activity. Access Discovery Education at the bottom of this page. Read pages 650-655. Record 8 things learned. Language Arts: Thursday, 1/28 1st/5th periods-Make sure your weekly posting on the wiki is DONE, along with two comments on other classmates' postings. Social Studies Thursday 1/28 : Students read and interpreted poetry written by children during the Holocaust. Students are to go onto Blackboard, click on project and read the poetry project. Students should read the poems provided write their own poem to turn in tomorrow on what they learned about the Holocaust.

SCIENCE-Monday, Jan 25- Today we did a lab testing 6 different soils on how they percolate water. We are looking to see if there is a correlation between particle size in the soil and amount percolated by the soil. See Data Table attached below. Tomorrow we will finish the lab and start writing the conclusion. A template for writing the conclusion is attached below. Homework- read pages 435-437 on the Nitrogen Cycle. Write down 8 things you learned from the reading. Study for Soil Test. The test will be this Wednesday. Language Arts: Monday, 1/25 FINISH Miep Gies editorial graphic organizer. You should have started this in class. I've attached the format in case you need it. 1st and 5th periods-your wiki posting #2 and two comments are due on FRIDAY. Science-Friday, Jan 22- Today we finished going over all answers to the study guide for the Soil Test. We also started a Soil Percolation Lab where we are testing 6 different soils to see how well they percolate water. Homework-study for your test. Use your practice test and your study guide! SOCIAL STUDIES : FRIDAY 1/22: Students worked on Blackboard website on our unit: Do Not Stand Silent. We are studying the Holocaust now and students that were in school friday 1/22 should be able to access Blackboard from home and continue to explore our Holocaust topics. Students should finish part 1 and 2 on our Guided Questions worksheet. Historical Fiction Projects were due today however students may turn this project in Monday without deduction on the grade. ALL PROJECTS NEED TO BE IN TO ME BY MONDAY 1/25!! Language Arts: Thursday, 1/21 Finish your week 2 vocabulary definitions. They will be checked tomorrow! Also, reading log #2 is due on Monday.
