  Welcome to Mrs. Spinelli's Fourth Grade Class Page

                                 

** Learning how to be responsible is an important part of becoming a successful student.  Organizing time wisely and planning ahead are skills every student needs.

 ********************* REMINDERS ***********************

***** Field Day will take place on Friday, May 25th. There will be a 12:30 dismissal.

Oral Report Due Date: Thursday, May 31, 2012 (Jokes and Riddles)

Book Report Due Date: Thursday, May 24, 2012 (Mystery Book Report)

  

Week of May 21st:

Religion    We will complete Chapter 15 this week.  This chapter focuses on forgiveness. We read the story of the Prodigal Son.  There will be a religion test next week.

Math: This week we will complete Chapter 6. We will review customary and metric units of measurement. There will be a chapter test on Wednesday. Our next unit of study will be graphs. 

Reading   This week we will review skills taught in unit 4. There will be a Benchmark Test on Thursday.   

Spelling We will review spelling words in Unit 4.

Science  We will continue our unit on the body systems.  This week we will cover the topic of the immune system.

Social Studies  We have begun Unit 4.  This unit discussess the changes that took place in New Jersey in the 1800's.  We will take a look at the different types of transportation that is being built.  Also, we will discuss the various cities that were growing during that time. 

Grammar   We will review pronouns this week.       

Handwriting  This week we will work on lesson 22.  The scripture passage is due on Monday

Writing     We will continue with our Very Bad Stories.  

Vocabulary The students will work on Unit 16.                                                                                                                                                             

Map Skills  Our map skills lesson will focus on using a map scale to determine distances on a map.
