Monday: Creative writing assignment this week is writing a poem. Rubric went home today, using 5 spelling words equals a check. We are still learning different types of measurement in math. Math homework is PW 94. I was not able to grade the math assessment this weekend due to family emergancy. I will get them checked today or tonight and we will review the results tomorrow. Read home book. Assessment Wednesday in Social Studies on chapter 8.

Tuesday:

Wednesday: February home book and rubric went home today. We are reading non-fiction and giving a speech only this month. Speeches will start 2/27. Assessment today in Social Studies on Chapter 8.

Thursday:

Friday: Spelling test today. See new list.

Creative writing Rubric:

You will have noticed that the graded assignment will have several grades on it. I am grading grammar, spelling, punctuation, handwriting and editing on every assignment.
To get a "plus" your child must write more that the assigned number of spelling words and sentences. To get a "check" your child must write the amount assigned. To get an "I" your child must write less than the assigned amount or have a few errors. To get an "N" your child must write a few sentences and spelling words or have several errors.
Example: 4 words and sentences assigned and only 2 spelling words and sentences submitted would equal an "N" in all areas. Submitting 3 spelling words and sentences would equal an "I" in all areas since the minimum requirements were not met. Make sure the spelling words are underlined.
I will also be taking into consideration whether or not the assignment was turned in on time. Finishing at school during class is not considered "turning in on time."
