Parents,
The students who achieved their first quarter A.R. goal will be shopping at the school A.R. store soon. The store will be open on November 17 and 18. Each class will go at their assigned time with their class. Remember, second quarter goals are doubled, so students need to be reading each night. Reading Logs are due every Friday and late logs will not be accepted.
It is important for students to complete homework each and every night. Please remember that while I do want you to help your child with his/her homework, it is not beneficial for your child if you do the assignment for them. We are preparing for EOG's in May and no help will be provided then.
Please make sure your child is wearing appropriate clothing now that the weather is turning colder. We will still be going outside for recess as long as it is not raining.
This week in Mr. Burris's Class:
READING: Next week, we will be reading "Dancing Rainbows" from our Basal Text Book. Students will have spelling, vocabulary and comprehension tests on Friday. We will also be working in Guided Reading Groups.
MATH: We will take a test on Clocks/Time and Calendars on Tuesday. We will begin working on Multiplication Facts. Please work with your child at home on telling time and how to say time in different ways, as well as beginning to work on Multiplication Facts.
WRITING: We will be working on lessons from our Writer's Workshop books.
SCIENCE: We will be continuing our unit on Bones.
SOCIAL STUDIES: We will be working on various activities related to the Thanksgiving holiday in the next few weeks.

Monday, November 24 - Field Trip to Horizons Unlimited
