Parents,
As many of you know, the Norovirus is going around in our area. Please remind your child to wash his/her hands often with soap. This is the best way to prevent the spread of this virus. Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching. Please remind your child that if he/she brings Valentine’s for the class, he/she must bring one for everyone in the class. We will be having small Valentine’s Day treats in class on Tuesday. This is just a small social treat and I will be providing all necessities for the classroom. Next Thursday, February 16, I will be sending home Spell-a-thon information. This is one of our yearly fundraisers. Please encourage your child to participate by studying and collecting pledges. Although this has been a mild Winter, we are still having days in the 40’s and low 50’s. Students need to be dressing appropriately, including proper footwear. We are still going outside for recess, unless it is below 40 degrees. This Week in Mr. Burris's Class: MATH: We will begin studying Measurement, beginning with Temperature. Students should still be studying Math facts every night, especially Multiplication. SOCIAL STUDIES: None SCIENCE: We will continue studying the Solar System. WRITING: We will continue working on parts of speech. Students should be answering short answer questions in complete sentences.
