Dear Parents and Students,

  • We will be starting our yearly "Growing to 100%" prize incentives in March. These incentives will last from March through May, with prize drawings each month. More information will be sent home as we get closer to March.
  • Spell-A-Thon information went home with your child last week. This is one of our yearly fundraisers. Please encourage your child to participate by studying their words and collecting pledges.
  • Although this has been a mild Winter, we are still having days in the 40s and low 50s. Students should be dressing appropriately, including proper footwear. We are still going outside for recess, unless it is below 40 degrees.
  • As many of you know the Norovirus has been going around our area. Please remind your child to wash his/her hands often with soap and water! This is the best way to prevent the spread of this virus.
  • On February 22, we will be sending home 3rd quarter Progress Reports. Please look over these reports to see what your child needs to work on. With EOG's quickly approaching, students need to be giving 100% in everything they do!!
  • Please remind your child to be on their best behavior and listen and follow directions!

I continue to look forward to working with you and your child as the school year progresses.  I am sure that with all of us working together, it will continue to be a great year!  If at anytime you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to send me a note or give me a call after school.  I am usually at school until 4:30 each day. One last thing, I do like to give treats to students for various things.  If you would be willing to send small individually wrapped treats (candy) or small items that I could use for treats, I would greatly appreciate any contributions.

Let's Get Growing!

Thank you for the opportunity to teach your child this school year.. I am sure that if we all work together it will continue be a great year. If you have questions or concerns during the year, please send me a note or call me at school (704-933-2534). Smiles, words of encouragement and pats on the back can mean more than an A+ on a paper and create a child's positive attitude toward school and learning - let's make it OUR goal to make sure each child feels that warmth everyday!
